Vikings Downed by Packers Week 17

Mason Crosby kicks a 35-yard field goal [9 plays, 58 yards, 3:12 time of possession]

Rodgers to Adams enough for points: Aaron Rodgers completed two of his first three pass attempts to Davante Adams. The first went for a gain of 19, and the second resulted in 30 to convert a third-and-3 and move the ball to the Minnesota 17.

Crosby kicks a 36-yard field goal [8 plays, 61 yards, 4:18 time of possession]

Another red zone stand: Aaron Jones’ 28-yard run gave the Packers a fresh set of downs at the 24-yard line, but the Vikings allowed just 6 yards on the next two plays and Patrick Peterson forced an incompletion on a pass to Adams on third down. Green Bay settled for its second field goal on its third trip to the red zone.

Allen Lazard catches a 20-yard pass from Rodgers (Crosby kicks PAT) [6 plays, 66 yards, 3:21 time of possession]

Up for grabs: Lazard won a jump ball against Kris Boyd that Rodgers lofted above a pass rush attempt by Anthony Barr.

Adams catches an 11-yard pass from Rodgers (Crosby kicks PAT) [6 plays, 64 yards, 1:03 time of possession]

Start and finish: Adams began the possession with a 19-yard catch on a pass that Barr tipped. He capped it with a gain of 17 immediately before finding a hole in the middle of Minnesota’s coverage.

Greg Joseph kicks a 51-yard field goal [9 plays, 42 yards, 1:05 time of possession]

Key gains: The Vikings got the ball from their own 40-yard line to the Packers 33 in 14 seconds thanks to a 16-yard pass to Justin Jefferson and an 11-yard scramble by Sean Mannion.

AJ Dillon rushes for 4 yards (Crosby kicks PAT) [7 plays, 37 yards, 3:51 time of possession]

Ground and pound: Green Bay took advantage of its best starting field position that resulted from a 21-yard punt return by David Moore and a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty on Tye Smith. The Packers closed the drive with four consecutive runs by Dillon for gains of 8, 3, 7 and 4.

Crosby kicks a 37-yard field goal [8 plays, 32 yards, 3:48 time of possession]

Easing into range: The Packers gained 24 yards on their first two plays of a possession that started on their own 49 after Minnesota missed an attempt on fourth-and-3 with a pass that was behind Jefferson.

K.J. Osborn catches a 14-yard pass from Mannion (Joseph kicks PAT) [8 plays, 65 yards, 3:22 time of possession]

Weird set up: The score to Osborn was set up by a 21-yard reception credited to Garrett Bradbury. The Vikings center corralled a pass that was intended for Tyler Conklin but knocked loose with a hit by Adrian Amos. Conklin left the game after the hit but returned.

Dillon rushes for 7 yards (Crosby kicks PAT) [11 plays, 70 yards, 6:19 time of possession]
