TLB’s Fantasy Football Rankings – Quarterbacks
5 min read
By now, you’re probably well into draft season. The peak of the Industry (i.e., Scott Fish Bowl) and “Best Ball” draft season is behind us and now most of us are thinking about our home leagues. Let’s face it, those other leagues are fun to win but when it comes down to it, aren’t your most important leagues the ones you win against your closest friends? I mean, that’s a win that keeps on giving!
That’s where we are now and I’m here for it. In fact, I’m so here for it, I’m going to help you pick the best QBs to get you to the promised land. QBs are generally deep this year but that doesn’t mean you should ignore them or avoid spending draft capital on a QB. What I want you to do is spend the RIGHT amount of draft capital on them.
Let’s jump right in.
My QBs for 2026
- Player: Joe Burrow
- Team: Cincinnati Bengals
- My Rank (2026 FantasyPros ECR): QB2 (QB4)
Joe Burrow is my top early round QB selection this season. The “experts” rank him as their QB#4 and his August ADP puts him at pick ~56 (5th round). If I’m not waiting to take my QB, I love this value, especially since Josh Allen is going at pick 29.
Yes, we know it all comes down to him remaining on the field. Let’s get past the argument, because we can’t control any of that, and assume all these QBs will remain on the field all season. In most projections, he leads the league in TDs and top 2-3 in Yds. Again, as a 5th round selection, that’s good enough for me…especially if I can stack him with Chase or Higgins.
- Player: Dak Prescott
- Team: Dallas Cowboys
- My Rank (2026 FantasyPros ECR): QB5 (QB10)
Dak Prescott is another one of my favorites this season. He’s coming off the board with a mid-80s ADP (7th round) alongside the likes of Trevor Lawrence and Jalen Hurts. Like Burrow, he’s at/near the top in projected TDs and Yds and has a dynamic duo of receivers to target.
What’s the common thread you see so far? If you said “high volume passing attacks” and “non-elite defenses” you’d be correct. Neither are all that mobile but I’ll trade it for the passing upside.
- Player: Bo Nix
- Team: Denver Broncos
- My Rank (2026 FantasyPros ECR): QB11 (QB12)
Speaking of pseudo-running QBs, Bo Nix fits that bill for me. Apparently, the experts feel the same way, but the current drafters may be a little slow on the uptake, coming off draft boards as QB#16 around pick 108 (9th round).
After two trips around the sun in the league, he’s averaging ~3850 Yds and 27 TDs per season. Add to that ~375 rushing yards and 4-5 TDs, makes him a very nice pick if your plan is to wait on QBs.
- Player: Daniel Jones
- Team: Indianapolis Colts
- My Rank (2026 FantasyPros ECR): QB23 (QB24)
Here’s another one where I align with the “experts” out there. For clarity, I’m not targeting Daniel Jones as my Week 1 starting QB but he’s definitely worth a stash. Will he start Week 1? Maybe, but I’m going to plan for at least a couple weeks to get back up to game speed. That makes him an ideal bye-week filler later in the season.
I realize there’s risk/reward here (maybe more of the former) but let’s not forget he led the Colts to a terrific start, enroute to 3100+ Yds and 19 TDs over essentially 12 games. Inserting that into your fantasy lineup mid-season is like making a blockbuster trade and giving up scraps. In the event he starts on the injured list, and your league includes IR spot(s), he’s an ideal stash candidate.
- Player: Cam Ward
- Team: Tennessee Titans
- My Rank (2026 FantasyPros ECR): QB25 (QB25)
Ok, one more…and another one where I’m aligned well with the “experts” and drafters for that matter. Cam Ward is being drafted around pick 157 (13th+ round) but I’m willing to bet we’ll be looking at him as a top 15-18 QB by season’s end.
Why am I higher on him you ask? Well, an 8:1 QB:INT rate to end the season is encouraging. He showed to be a quick study in his rookie year so there’s optimism that continues into 2026. He’s also showing a higher comfort for playing at home (we have a tool for that, by the way) with about about 40% more fantasy points in Nashville. So circle the following home games (for SFlex or even DFS): NYJ (Week 1), CLE (Week 7), and WAS (Week 13).
