If it seems like offensive scoring was scarce in the NFL this week, I believe it’s true. It’s not historically scarce; it’s more a reverse of 2025 in the first two weeks:

We had a huge year-over-year increase in points per NFL game in Week 1, and a huge decrease in Week 2, but the scoring practically offsets season-to-date.

This is reflected in our RazzBowl 8 results. Week 1 had 17 managers eclipse 200 points. Here’s the top 25 for Week 2:

Legend: Rank is for points scored in the current week, Owner and Team refer to identifiers in NFFC, League is the RB8 league number the team is in, Draft Position is the spot the team drafted in, Chg is the number of points for the week, and RChg is the position the team moved up or down in the overall rankings for the tournament.

This week, only three teams had 200+ points, led by Greg Shirron, who rode the Lions stack of Jared Goff (41.05 points) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (35.20) to bragging rights for Week 2. Greg also had Tre Tucker and Rashod Bateman, who totaled a combined 44.70 points. A tip of the hat to the RazzballNFL crew on our start/sit show, who repeatedly recommended Bateman in the absence of Zay Flowers. Of course, yours truly was the dissenter, so I get the dunce cap.

Another thing that I’d like to point out is that three teams climbed 100+ spots in the overall rankings based on Week 2 results. These are the top ten risers:

@jherrlich rode the second-highest point total for the week, rising 152 spots to 29 overall for the season. It’s early, so the magnitude of the ranking changes should decrease over time, but good weeks can certainly put you in contention. Fantasy Alarm’s Ryan Hallam, RotoWire’s Jeff Erickson, and Draft Buddy’s Mike MacGregor all had stellar weeks relative to the rest of the field.

After two weeks, these are the top-25 teams for the season so far:

Note that the overall leader, John Vamos, has an RChg of 0, meaning he’s stubborn. And selfish. These are admirable traits in RazzBowl and in fantasy sports. Well done. John’s planted his flag. It’s up to the rest of us to change that. My league (555) puts in an appearance as Billy Mutch used the fourth-highest score of the week to rise 23 spots to number 5 overall. And speaking of selfishness, eight leagues sit in 17 of the top-25 spots, led by league 565 with three spots.

I want to give a shoutout to our reps at NFFC, who made sure our standings are working in full. We can now see the overall rankings for the tournament, as well as all the divisions. I can’t tell you how much easier this makes data management for me.

The first Week 3 game is in Green Bay on Thursday as the Packers host the Falcons. This will be one of the few Week 3 games where both teams’ QB1 are likely to play. Yes, it’s been that kind of a season. They all are in a sport that has hundreds of high-speed collisions every week.
