Jets place Elijah Moore on IR as bad injury luck...

The Jets’ run of bad injury luck continued Saturday, when the team placed rookie wide receiver Elijah Moore on injured reserve.

Moore has been dealing with a quad injury and was not expected to play Sunday against the Saints, but head coach Robert Saleh had been optimistic earlier in the week that the injury was not that serious. Now, Moore will be out for at least three games, and the Jets only have five games left.

The second-round pick out of Mississippi has been the Jets’ most consistent performer on offense over the last six weeks, making a big leap as a player since late October. In the past six games, Moore had 34 catches for 459 yards and five touchdowns.

The Jets were already thin at wide receiver because they placed Corey Davis on IR earlier this week after he had season-ending core muscle surgery. The Jets’ top receivers now are Jamison Crowder, Keelan Cole, Denzel Mims and Braxton Berrios.

Moore is the second high-profile Jets rookie to land on IR. Running back Michael Carter is on IR with a high ankle sprain, but he is eligible to return next week.
