Former Packers DL Ross Browner dies at 67

Ross Browner, who played in 11 games for the Packers in 1987, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, from complications resulting from a case of COVID-19. Browner was 67.

Browner signed with the Packers as a free agent shortly before the start of the 1987 season. Forrest Gregg was head coach of the Packers and Browner had played for him in Cincinnati for four years. A defensive end throughout his career, Browner started two games for the Packers at nose tackle, filling in for an injured Jerry Boyarsky.

Browner was the eighth overall pick in the 1978 draft and played nine years with the Bengals. He was 33 when the Packers signed him.
