If you, like me, are a fan of Ahmad Gardner but miss out on him early in the draft, then you might want to have done some work on Tariq Woolen out of Texas-San Antonio.
Woolen was a three-star recruit out of Arlington Heights High School in Texas as a wide receiver, and signed with UTSA as a receiver. He spent his first few years on campus as a receiver, catching 26 passes for 263 yards and a touchdown, before moving to cornerback.
Woolen is still adjusting to life as a corner, but his experience as a receiver gives him a unique insight into coverage, leverage and how to react to concepts as they unfold. There are moments on film where he might gamble a bit, and rely on his length too much, but the talent is there.
