“Me and A.J. know each other,” Jones said. “We played against each other in the Mississippi-Alabama (high school all-star) game. And you know Julio is a back-home guy from Mobile, Alabama. So that would be amazing, just to talk to those guys and get knowledge to add to my game.
“I think I’d fit in great.”
A 6-foot, 200-pounder, was a 2019 All-Pac-12 performer at USC before becoming a 2021 All-SEC selection with the Vols, where he was a multi-talented receiver and a return specialist at Tennessee.
In 2021, Jones had 62 receptions for 807 yards and seven touchdowns for the Vols. He also finished the 2021 season as the FBS active leader with 2,973 kick return yards.
He took part in the Senior Bowl.
“(Playing for the Titans) would be amazing,” Jones said. “I really like Nashville. We played (the Music City Bowl) against Purdue in Nashville (at Nissan Stadium).
“Actually, I love Nashville. I like the vibe from the people (there). That would be amazing to stay in the state of Tennessee.”
Jones played in 61 career games with 21 starts, including 23 games and 15 starts at Tennessee. Including his time at USC, he hauled in 120 passes for 1,434 yards and 11 touchdowns for his career. At UT, Jones caught 84 passes for 1,087 yards and 10 scores.
Jones was the only player in the nation with over 800-plus receiving yards, 200-plus punt return yards and 600-plus kickoff return yards. He racked up 4,738 all-purpose yards in his career, including 2,416 at UT and 2,322 at USC.
No matter where Jones ends up, be thinks he’ll be successful for more reasons than one.
“Any time the ball touches my hand I’m going to make a positive play to put my team in a good position,” Jones said. “When it comes to me, I feel I’m four players in one. I can make plays in any phase of the game.”
