Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has revealed an incredible name for the Patrick Mahomes to Anthony Sherman touchdown from Monday Night Football.
Life is good for Kansas City Chiefs fans everywhere. After the team won the Super Bowl last season, they’ve followed things up with a perfect 3-0 start, highlighted by the team’s impressive road victory in Week 3 against the Baltimore Ravens.
To make things even better for Kansas City, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy shared the name of that particular play, and it’s incredibly hilarious.
Kansas City fans will absolutely love what the Patrick Mahomes to Anthony Sherman play is called
That’s right, folks, the name of that Mahomes to Sherman touchdown is Smoked Sausage. Does it get any better than that? Absolutely not. For Sherman, he’ll surely love that play to be called more frequently. Since arriving to Kansas City in 2013, he’s been a stud blocker, but hasn’t caught too many passes.
Matter of fact, Sherman only has four touchdown receptions since landing with the Chiefs. We’ll have to wait and see if there will be more ‘Smoked Sausage’ on the way in big games later this year. As for Mahomes, he continues to put up video game-type numbers whenever he’s on the field.
In the victory over Baltimore, he threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns, while adding another score on the ground. With Mahomes and the offense looking unstoppable, the team can feel free to call plays any way they like. Until defenses can find a way to stop Kansas City, it really does feel like they’re walking on water.
