Mariota completed just 7-of-18 passes for 63 yards and two interceptions and a 9.5 rating before being replaced with 4:49 in the third quarter. He was sacked three times. On the season, Mariota has completed 94-of-159 passes for 1,179 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions, with a 91.7 rating. He’s been sacked 25 times in six games.
Tannehill completed 13-of-16 passes for 144 yards with a 78.1 rating. He was sacked four times.
Vrabel said he doesn’t want the position to be a “revolving door.”
“It is just a critical position at any level,” Vrabel said. “They are the leader of the football team, they have the ball in their hands a 100 percent of the time. …
“We are going to take it one day at a time, but I don’t think that the answer is a revolving door at that position or at any position. You’d like to have some continuity. … I think there’s a lot of factors (in making the decision). Again, there are things we’ll talk about and just try and come up with the best decision moving forward with the team.”
