Seahawks wide receiver Jaron Brown continues to make his case for a spot in Seattle’s starting lineup. The returning veteran has been battling this summer, letting his play on the field speak for itself.

Brown finished the night against the Vikings as the team’s leading receiver, logging two receptions for 52 yards on three targets. He took the second-most snaps of the receivers with quarterback Russell Wilson at 13, behind only Tyler Locket.

“I thought he looked great,” coach Pete Carroll said after the game. “We just need to hook up on the third-down catch, on the cross route. He’s a really good player. He just does everything right. He’s a real consummate pro. He’s a hard worker, got a great attention to detail, he can help us in special teams. Makes the catches, makes the blocks.

“He’s a really good football player for us.”

If Brown can continue to produce this preseason, he has the chance to earn not only a place on the 53-man roster but a coveted spot on the starting lineup for the regular season.
