‘Of course’ Antonio Brown will play in NFL again

Even with all the personal demons, off-field drama and relentless in-fighting wherever he goes, veteran wide receiver Antonio Brown still has an NFL career ahead of him, says retired New York Giants running back Tiki Barber.

“He’s got skill,” Tiki told TMZ Sports. “Eventually, he’ll be back in the league. . . He’s good, he’s still a great athlete. He’s just got some demons he’s got to work out.”

In recent years, Brown has made headlines for his failing relationships in Pittsburgh, including with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and fellow wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, which ultimately led to a trade to the Oakland Raiders.

Then, with the Raiders, Brown made waves over a gripe about his helmet which led to a holdout of sorts, complete with fines. And in typical Brown fashion, given that he was unhappy with the fines, he then forced his way out of Oakland.

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots thought perhaps they could get Brown in line, but a series of sexual assault allegations and a later threat toward one of the accusers led to a parting of ways there, but not before Brown took several shots at Patriots owner Robert Kraft for his own legal woes.

Ultimately, Barber says, once “some of this heat blows over” someone will take a chance on Brown’s talent. And if you were to listen to agent Drew Rosenhaus, several teams have already reached out with interest.

For now, Brown remains an untouchable free agent, but Barber is right — eventually, someone will take a chance on the troubled wide receiver because winning is all that matters in the NFL. If you can help a team win, you will be signed regardless of what baggage you are carrying.
