Highlights from the Jets practice on Tuesday:
Linebacker C.J. Mosley picked off starting quarterback Sam Darnold when it appeared he undercut a route. He did it so deftly, it looked like he was Darnold’s intended receiver.
Linebacker James Burgess dropped a sure interception of a pass thrown by backup quarterback Luke Falk. The pass went right through the hands of Burgess, who took some ribbing from teammates on the sideline. “It slipped through my hands,’’ Burgess tried to explain.

There are no official stats, but Tuesday appeared to be Sam Darnold’s worst practice of the summer. Unofficially, he completed just 5-of-12 passes with that interception. Early on, Darnold overthrew open tight end Chris Herndon and it didn’t get better from there. Offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains acknowledged afterward that Darnold struggled, but called out the entire offense as having a “sloppy’’ practice.
DL Leonard Williams returned to practice from the hip injury that caused him to miss the last week. DL Henry Anderson, who left Monday’s practice with what was thought to be a concussion, practiced fully Tuesday. RG Brian Winters (shoulder) remained sidelined. So, too, did LG Kelechi Osemele, who suffered a pectoral strain Monday. Adam Gase said he wasn’t concerned Osemele’s injury is serious. S Marcus Maye practiced fully for the first time after being limited the last two days. CB Kyron Brown, who hurt a hamstring Monday, didn’t practice. LB Blake Cashman didn’t practice for the second consecutive day after leaving Sunday’s practice with a hamstring injury.
