Hue Jackson did not mince his words about Baker...

Hue Jackson is back chiming in on the Browns and Baker Mayfield.

Former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson seems like a genuinely good person. Unfortunately, that is lost on most fans who want nothing to do with him after his 3-36-1 tenure with the franchise that mercifully ended in 2018.

The Browns are already 4-2 this season and that means it took Kevin Stefanski a little less time to topple Jackson’s win total. The former Browns coach appeared on ESPN Radio in Cleveland on Friday morning and chimed in on how he thinks the team isn’t managing Baker Mayfield in the right way.

Hue Jackson just needs to stop

Once again, Jackson seems like a nice guy. But he is not head coach material and his tenure in Cleveland was filled with plenty of blame, head-scratching decisions, and total chaos. He also got off to a bad start with Mayfield and the relationship reached a point of no return once Jackson took a job in Cincinnati just weeks after being fired in Cleveland.

The odd thing is that Jackson had the chance to turn his career around with Mayfield as the quarterback. Instead, he opted for Tyrod Taylor to start the 2018 season and was let go when it became clear the team just needed to move on.

The situation with Mayfield is deeper than the coaching staff not building up his confidence. He is dealing with what seems like a severe rib injury and don’t forget this is his fourth head coach if you count Gregg Williams in the interim role back in 2018.

Stefanski loves to run the ball and that is the strength of this offense. Mayfield not having to throw for 300 yards and the Browns winning the game is all part of the formula.

Jackson has the right to talk about his past. But Browns fans know something is up whenever he makes an appearance and this time he is promoting a book.

The former head coach should be able to find a job as a position coach if he wants one. Talking about his time with the Browns, however, only makes him look bad and he just needs to move on.
