Early Week 10 Waiver Wire Pickups

Week 1o Waiver Wire Quarterbacks

There are a few new names starting in this position. If you are in a two quarterback league you may be interested in them but in 1 QB leagues none are worth touching unless you are very desperate. If castoffs mentioned before like Tannehill or Fitzmagic are available they would be better targets than the following guys.

Ryan Finley

Week 10 waiver Wire Ryan Finley

The Bengals had a bye but have already annonunced that Finley is the new starter and why not? Their season is over so they might as well see what he has. One of these days he may get to throw to A.J. Green so there is a little upside here. At one time Finley was being talked about as a potential 1st round pick and does have good arm strength.

Brian Hoyer

Brian Hoyer

With Jacoby Brissett suffering a apparent MCL injury he is likely to miss a couple of weeks. It’s too bad the Colts are also missing T.Y. Hilton also leaving Hoyer a gaggle of JAG’s to throw to. On the plus side the recievers do have upside and he has a couple of good TE’s so you could do worse.

Brandon Allen/Drew Lock

brandon Allen

Brandon Allen is the starter for now for the Broncos but for how long? Eventually the Broncos will give Drew Lock some action. In 2 QB leagues you’ll have to add them both if you want a QB for the rest of the year.

Running Backs

Derrius Guice

Guice

Guice is coming off of I.R. soon and even though Adrian Peterson is looking great for his age the Redskins need to see if Guice can play some games without reinjuring himself again.

Mark Walton

Mark Walton

Even though his stats were horrible the volume is there which makes Walton a what the heck desperation flex play for the rest of the year.

TY Johnson

Ty Johnson

Johnson may have been prematurely dropped after the Week 8 Tra Carson showing, but Carson is now on I.R. giving Johnson another chance. His performance was far from earth shattering and if the Lions do not sign free Agent Jay Ajayi, Johnson becomes a RB3 volume play with upside.

Jay Ajayi

Jay ajayi

Ajayi worked out for Detroit last week and after more uninspireing performances by TY Johnson and J.D. McKissic it wouldn’t surprise me to see Ajayi get signed and strp into the #1 role.  Besides what is the worst thing that can happen? You drop him if he doesn’t sign.

Wide Recievers

zach pascal

Zach Pascal/Parris Campbell

When it was announced that TY Hilton was going to miss 3-4 weeks there is a high probability that one or both of the guys may have been picked up. They both had 5 receptions but Pascal looks to have more upside. If either are available and you need WR help pick them up.

Hunter Renfrow

Hunter Renfrow

Touchdowns in back to back weeks and PPR goodness to boot makes Renfrow a Waiver Wire darling for Week 10.

Tight Ends

Dallas Goedert

dallas goedert

While he missed the end zone and while Zach Ertz came back to life Goedert still is the only TE that isn’t widely owned that a high TE1 capabilities if Ertz goes down and has TE2 with a better than average TD potential in any given week.

Mike Gesicki

Gesicki helped give the Dolphins there first win by being the leading reciever on the team. He can put up TE2 numbers for the rest of the season as long as Fitzpatrick is the QB.

Noah Fant

noah fant

Maybe a QB change was all Denver needed to release the power of the Tight End position. With Brandon Allen now starting Fant had a break out day with a career-high 115 yards and a touchdown. Most of that came on one huge play but Fant showed that the Bronco’s may not have wasyed the 20th overall pick in this year’s draft. The Broncos are on bye this week, so Fant is, unfortunately, nothing more than a stash this week.
