BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Bears have released their first unofficial depth chart of 2019 in advance of Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Carolina Panthers at Soldier Field.
For the second straight year, Mitchell Trubisky is the starting quarterback, ahead of backup Chase Daniel and third-stringer Tyler Bray.
Allen Robinson II is the starter at one receiver position, ahead of Javon Wims and Marvin Hall. Taylor Gabriel is first at the other spot, ahead of Cordarrelle Patterson, Riley Ridley, Tanner Gentry, Taquan Mizzell Sr., Thomas Ives and Joe Walker. Anthony Miller is the third starter, with Jordan Williams-Lambert and Emanuel Hall behind him.
Tarik Cohen is the No. 1 running back, followed by Mike Davis, David Montgomery, Ryan Nall and Kerrith Whyte Jr.
The starting offensive line consists of left tackle Charles Leno Jr., left guard Cody Whitehair, center James Daniels, right guard Kyle Long and right tackle Bobby Massie. The second unit features Ted Larsen at center and right guard, Cornelius Lucas III at left tackle, Alex Bars at left guard and Rashaad Coward at right tackle.
Trey Burton is the starting tight end, followed by Adam Shaheen, Ben Braunecker, Bradley Sowell, Ian Bunting, Dax Raymond, Ellis Richardson and Jesper Horsted.
The starting defensive line consists of tackle Akiem Hicks, nose tackle Eddie Goldman and end Bilal Nichols. The second team is comprised of tackle Roy Robertson-Harris, nose tackle Nick Williams and end Jonathan Bullard.
At inside linebacker, Danny Trevathan and Roquan Smith are the starters, Nick Kwiatkoski and Joel Iyiegbuniwe are the backups, and Josh Woods and Kevin Pierre-Louis are listed with the third team.
At outside linebacker, Khalil Mack and Leonard Floyd are the starters, Aaron Lynch and Isaiah Irving are the backups, and Kylie Fitts and James Vaughters are listed with the third team.
Prince Amukamara is the starter at one cornerback position, ahead of Kevin Toliver II, John Franklin III and Clifton Duck, while Kyle Fuller is atop the depth chart at the other spot ahead of Buster Skrine, Duke Shelley, Michael Joseph and Stephen Denmark.
At safety, Eddie Jackson and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix are the starters, Deon Bush and DeAndre Houston-Carson are the backups, and Sherrick McManis and Jonathon Mincy are listed with the third team.
The Bears do not list their kickers as first- and second-teamers but instead use the word “OR” as in “Elliott Fry OR Eddy Pineiro.”
Patterson is the No. 1 kickoff returner, followed by Miller and Marvin Hall, while Cohen is the top punt returner, ahead of Marvin Hall and Jackson.
