RazzBowl 8 Week 1 Update

About 10 minutes after sending the Week 2 waiver reminder, our NFFC contact reached out to say that our divisions have been added to the standings filters on the NFFC site. I am now RazzBowl Big Brother!
This means is that I can now get the big-picture view of the tournament to see how everyone is doing with respect to the field.

We had 17 teams hit at least 200 points, led by the aptly named John Vamos. Let’s go, indeed! He holds a 13.55-point lead over the next player. Very impressive! John’s team was led by Bryce Young at QB with 41.05 total points, keeping Lamar Jackson’s 31.20 points on the bench. John cashed in on the Carolina Panthers this week, also rostering Jalen Coker (33.80 points) and Chuba Hubbard (23.70 points). We all have some work to do to catch him.
I recognize a few names from our Supporter Leagues, from Scott Fish Bowl, and from the fantasy sports industry. Fantasy Alarm’s Howard Bender checks in at number 7; FantasyPros’ Pat Fitzmaurice, who had to suffer through a Pros with Joes league with me a few years ago, is number 17; Rick Brusuelas of The Sports Affiliation is number 20; and Big Guy Sports’ Bob Lung rounds out the top 25. If you’ve never been (like me), Bob and his family put on the Fantasy Football Expo every year, and the 2027 edition is scheduled for July 23-25 in Canton, OH. And a quick shoutout to The Deep Shot’s Dalton Del Don (number 26) and Andy Behrens (number 34). Dalton has been at the Northern California SFB live drafts and is friendly even when I’ve pulled him away from studying the draft boards to recruit him for our tournament.
Six divisions have two top-25 spots (930, 565, 557, 641, 575, and 567). My division (555) is absent from the top 25, but Billy Mutch (number 28) is in the neighborhood. Me? I’m at number 100. But I enjoyed the first Sunday of games at a party with old friends.
There are plenty of Razzballers in our tourney. So far, the best of us are Jefferson (number 50) and Sky (number 72).
Starting next week, we’ll be able to do some week-on-week comparisons, and I’ll introduce you to the Razzball crew.
We still have nine weeks to go in the regular season. Plenty of time to shuffle the 240-card deck of RazzBowl 8.
