Week 2 Streamers and Stashes

6 min read

We’re back again for another fantasy season and I’m back doing streamers and stashes for another year! Although your draft will provide the core of your fantasy rosters, it’s vital to constantly improve your roster, taking advantage of good match-ups and future opportunities. Every week, I’ll be bringing you an article answering two simple questions: who should I stream this week and who should I stash for the future?

To keep things simple, we’ll define a streamer as any player you wouldn’t usually start who is a viable option for this week. They may be on your bench or they may be on waivers, depending on your league. We’ll define a stash as any player you can potentially find on waivers that you should stash for the future, either because they have a favorable match-up coming up, or because they could become a future fantasy starter. All players will have under 80% ownership on either Sleeper or Yahoo, ideally both.

We’d love to have you join us on the Razzball YouTube channel (@RazzballFantasy) and podcast. If nothing else, tune in every Sunday morning two hours before kick-off for our Sunday Live Start/Sit Show where we answer hundreds of your lineup questions.

QB Streamers:

(Last year’s article included Top 5 passers Trevor Lawrence and Caleb Williams)

Jared Goff (DET-70%): Struggled a little against a tough Saints defense but now gets a Bills side that made CJ Stroud like good. Would be surprising if he doesn’t bounce back this week.

Tyler Shough (NO-47%): After passing for over 400 yards and three scores, Shough looks like a promising streamer in the coming weeks against moderate Ravens, Raiders and Falcons defenses. Plus, he should only improve from there once Jordan Tyson returns, making him a solid stash as well.

QB Stashes:

I don’t typically like the idea of stashing quarterbacks, but if you missed out on the Top 8 passers, it makes sense to start the season with a bench QB to increase your chances of finding a stud. Here’s my fave options that may be available on waivers:

Jordan Love (GB-42%): The Vikings were the league’s toughest passing matchup last season but Love still managed to put up nearly 400 yards and two scores. Has some great matchups over the next six weeks and is a solid strash and viable stream most weeks.

Jacoby Brissett (ARI-5%): Put up a fantastic performance against a tough Chargers defense that was top five against quarterbacks last season. A fantastic superflex option and a solid stash in deeper leagues who could be very valuable during bye weeks.

RB Streamers:

(Last year’s article included eventual studs Travis Etienne and Javonte Williams, well before they were cool.)

Jordan Mason (MIN-68%): The Vikings remain a committee, but Mason is getting the more valuable touches as the early down back. Takes on a Bears defense that looked generally susceptible and you’d have to feel Minnesota would like to make Carson Wentz’s job easier by establishing the run early.

Chris Rodriguez (JAC-31%): Splitting with Tuten but looks in line to get the high-value goal line looks. Takes on a Broncos team that Kenneth Walker tore to shreds in Week 1 and will likely be far more involved when the team isn’t so far ahead early on.

Kaelon Black (SF-12%): A fantastic stash but there’s plenty of them to talk about so I’m going one further. The 49ers have come back from Australia and will be wanting to keep CMC’s workload low in an easy matchup against the Dolphins. The same Miami team Ashton Jeanty ran riot against. So I’d expect plenty of Black again, making him a viable deep league stream.

RB Stashes:

Brian Robinson (ATL-26%): Last season, Tyler Allgeier was the best stash in football. He was a viable bye week filler and would be a RB1 if Bijan went down. Brian Robinson has an identical role this season. It’s crazy to me he’s available in so many leagues.

Running backs get injured more than any other player in fantasy, with the average Top 36 running back missing two games per season in fantasy. For that reason, your best bet in fantasy is to roster running backs who are an injury away from an every down role. Each week, I’ll be listing my favorite RB stashes, only including players you won’t be starting most weeks.

Top Handcuffs: Kaelon Black, Brian Robinson, Mike Washington, Emmett Johnson, Braelon Allen, Tank Bigsby, Woody Marks, Seth McGowan, Tyler Allgeier, Jaylen Wright, Samaje Perine, Keaton Mitchell, Ray Davis, Devin Singletary, Raheim Sanders

WR Streamers:

(Last year’s article included breakout star Quentin Johnston.)

Jalen Coker (CAR-51%): A clear pickup after his Week 1 explosion, I’m fine with starting him this week against a Falcons side that was a top 10 WR matchup last season.

Malachi Fields (NYG-6%): My favorite rookie of the pre-season, Fields is the clear WR2 in NYC and gets a great matchup against the Rams. They were week against receivers last season and San Fran punished them in Australia with three WR touchdowns. Fields is my favorite surprise stream for this week and a must-stash too.

Xavier Worthy (KC-63%): Not my favorite pre-season player but I think the Colts matchup should suit him nicely. Ravens receivers went to town in Week 1 and I expect the same from KC this week.

WR Stashes:

Caleb Douglas (MIA-8%): Clear WR1 in Miami with a heap of upside. Might take some time for things to click but things should get better as Malik Willis eases into his role.

Denzel Boston (CLE-26%): KC Concepcion was the popular name all pre-season but it’s Boston who got the most snaps and the touchdown in Week 1. Deshaun Watson will have to get better before I’m willing to start any Browns receiver, but stashing him is a start.

TE Streamers:

Dalton Kincaid (BUF-75%): Kincaid’s usage has risen massively this year, meaning he can now be relied on as an every-week starter. But I wanted to mention him this week just to get things going.

Michael Mayer (LV-29%): If Brock Bowers remains out, Mayer is a strong start against a Chargers defense that allowed a huge pile of points to Trey McBride.

Hunter Henry (NE-54%): The injury to AJ Brown should mean a far higher target rate for Henry, who remains the clear top tight end in the Patriots offense.

TE Stashes:

Kenyon Sadiq (NYJ-30%): Until his route numbers increase he’ll be unstartable, but nobody has more upside that Sadiq. He’s a must-stash if you have even moderately deep benches.

K Streamers:

(If you combined our top kicker streamer each week of last season, they’d have outscored all but one actual kicker. Streaming is king.)

Chase McLaughlin (TB-15%): McLaughlin is an accurate kicker with a great matchup against the Browns.

Trey Smack (GB-8%): Smack huge a big leg and gets a strong matchup against the Jets.

DST Streamers:

Buccaneers DST (TB-10%): The Browns are the worst team in the league. Target them.

49ers DST (SF-8%): The San Francisco defense looked great in Australia and should back it up against the struggling Dolphins.

Please note: I won’t be listing kicker or DST stashes. You should never put kickers or DSTs on your bench in redraft leagues. There are practically no exceptions. Just please, don’t do it.
