Believe it or not, Stefon Diggs’ salary is on the line this weekend, in a manner of speaking.

Under the terms of his contract with the Buffalo Bills, there is a salary escalator based on both receptions and yardage. If he hit 100 receptions in a season, that would bump up his base salary in 2021, 2022 and 2023, and he hit that mark last year. He also had an escalator clause in his base salary if he topped 1,375 receiving yards, which he also hit a season ago.

Those clauses remain in force, and while Diggs is likely to fall short of 1,375 receiving yards, he enters Sunday with 94 receptions. Six more catches would add $750,000 and $800,000 to his 2022 and 2023 base salaries.
